Released date: 2010-11-16 Hits: 1216

Biomass fiber is a class of fibers which comes from renewable biomass, including natural animal and plant fibers, recycled fibers and synthetic fibers derived from biomass. Developing biomass fibers can make an effective expansion of the resources of textile raw materials and make up for insufficient domestic textile resources, but also response to the oil resources depleting. It is an important method to realize sustainable development of the textile industry. The development of renewable, biodegradable, recyclable biomass fiber is also a remarkable task to promote the establishment of the chemical fiber industry restructuring and build the circulating economic development models of chemical fiber industry.

At present, the biomass renewable fiber industry has developed rapidly in China. The production capacity in 2009 reached 191 million tons, accounting for 77% of the world's total capacity. China has broad development prospect because of rich reserves of biomass fiber resources.
