     It was the awakening of a tiger, figuratively, when PGI recently made the first Spunbond fabric on its new state-of-the-art, custom-designed, spunmelt line in Suzhou, China.
     The line, known internally as Project Tiger, was announced in December 2009 as an expansion designed to deliver differentiated and innovative products to the market.
     The expansion was supported by PGI’s recently established Center of Excellence (COE) to develop new nonwoven technology platforms yielding differentiated, superior quality high-barrier products to mainly serve the healthcare market.
     “We are partnering with key customers on this business growth,” said Yan Cui, Vice President, PGI Asia Operations. “The start-up quantity has been secured, the project is on time, and we have strong confidence that we will surpass the set targets in quality and quantity.”

Overall Progress
 The installation and start-up has been done safely without any incidents/accidents;
 The building meets Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) standards for internationally recognized green building certification.
 Customers are very interested in the capabilities of the new line and looking forward to the benefits in terms of performance and value.
